Ramesh Kumar, 60, is a business/economic journalist-turned-author with specialization in logistics & supply chain. Between 2010-16, he travelled 25,000 KM in trucks as driver assistant or kalasi across Indian Highways to study the challenges faced by Indian trade & commerce. In the course of this backbreaking journey, he fell in love in with long haul truck drivers and wrote three books (10,000 KM on Indian Highways in 2011, Naked Banana! in 2012 and An Affair With Indian Highways in 2013.)
The maiden book is included in the Library of Congress, Washington, USA in recognition of the unusual insights provided on Indian truck drivers. He is also Member of Logistics & Supply Chain Committee of National Cold-Chain Development (NCCD), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. He founded KRK Foundation, a Registered NGO focused on improving the working and living conditions of long haul truck drivers and their families living in remote villages of India. He edits DRIVERS DUNIYA, India's FIRST English Quarterly Magazine. He lives in New Delhi with wife and daughter.
